Mission update

Posted on Thu Sep 30th, 2021 @ 5:04am by Captain Maho Takahashi

To all crew:

As September comes to a close, and I look forward to writing my report to the fleet, I wanted to look back and take a moment to thank all of you for helping make September the Myogi's most active month yet. Well done everyone.

As October begins, I would like to capitalize on this momentum and keep it up as we enter that part of the year where things become a freefall slide into the holidays. I know some of you might think it's a bit too early to be planning that far in advance, but the holidays are known to sneak up on people, including myself.

If it's at all possible, I would like to have 'Handling the Fallout' wrapped up by the end of November, and that means a few key story developments are going to need to happen:

1. I (Commander Takahashi) need to wrap up the JPs I have still open with members of senior staff. Barring any new players joining, I currently have 3 such posts active.

2. The Myogi's command staff will meet with Ambassador Vro'LakH; the Klingon Empire's ambassador to the United Federation of Planets, to learn more about the Myogi's first post-trial assignment (and our upcoming mission, Trade Troubles). Commander Misono and I have the post already complete and waiting in the wings for posting pending the completion of Step 1.

3. The Myogi's senior staff will be briefed on the assignment. Currently, I am aiming to get started on this post after steps 1 and 2 are complete. At the end of the briefing, Maho will take a moment to inform the crew that she and Keisuke plan to renew their wedding vows before they leave on their assignment, as a way of legitimizing their marriage after their wedding was ruthlessly ripped from them, and that all crew are invited to attend the ceremony, which will be held on the holodeck, the way the wedding should have been done in the first place.

4. Maho and Keisuke renew their wedding vows. After that, get your dancing shoes on, because in addition to the actual vow renewal ceremony itself, Maho and Keisuke are also holding a reception without apology and certainly without holding back. One way or another, the Takahashis WILL get that perfect wedding.

5. The morning after the vow renewal and reception, the Myogi will depart on its assignment.

Once those story events are complete, hopefully by the end of November, I shall place the sim on temporary shore leave for the month of December, at which point we shall be able to do some fun holiday themed writing for a side mission I will launch in November and let it run through January, to Valentine's Day at the absolute latest, and in the New Year, we shall start on our next mission, Trade Troubles:

---

The Myogi's first post-Aisaka trial mission is rather routine to ease the ship back into service:

Commander Seiji Iwaki of the Nebula Class USS Nikko has for the longest time been harassing Federation-bound Klingon shipping, stopping and boarding Klingon ships to inspect their cargoes, even though most ships have no contraband to hide.

Iwaki's actions have angered the Klingon Empire, who are threatening war with the Federation. Looking to avoid war, Starfleet has dispatched the USS Myogi to take Commander Iwaki back to earth to stand trial for war mongering.

The Myogi's mission sounds simple. However, things are complicated when Commander Iwaki isn't willing to surrender himself: In fact, he believes he's actually doing the right thing by protecting free trade within the Federation.

---

Or at least, that's the plan. Depending on how long it takes to wrap up 'Handling the Fallout', our shoreleave might be shorter than a full month, or might not even happen at all.

Many congratulations to all the hard work you all have put in over the month of September: I eagerly look forward to what October brings for the Myogi!

Regards,

Commander Maho Takahashi
Commanding Officer
USS Myogi
