Personal History
| Personal History | Shingen was born in 2368 in a predominantly Japanese region on Alpha Centauri VII — where the colonists did their best to retain their heritage away from Earth. Growing up next door was Kiyohira Kabuto, the boy who would become so close as to be a brother. When they did well in school, it was together. When they got into trouble, it was together, usually with Shingen being the cause. They played sports, and Shingen’s preferred game was football (soccer) and Aikido. He developed a crush on Kiyohara’s sister, Kami, but never got the chance to date her. School counselors suggested that he find an occupation that could bring him discipline. Merchant fleets, local constabularies, and Starfleet (as an enlisted man). In 2386, Shingen walked into a Starfleet enlisting station and signed up. Kiyohira joined the next day, and both shipped off the following September. They trained in Starfleet Security on Earth and ended up apprenticing on Luna. They spent five years, from 2389 to late 2394, aboard USS Atlantis — a science vessel with limited opportunities to flex their muscles. It made Shingen anxious to find new challenges, which he did in early 2395 when he began working for Security Chief Tristana aboard USS Myogi. Tristana helped shape Shingen into the man he is now, even if she has only been influencing him for a number of months. Her command style was exactly what Shingen needed to focus his energies towards ship and personnel security, by whatever means necessary. It also helped that she was drop-dead gorgeous. |
