New Season

Posted on Sun Jun 29th, 2025 @ 6:54am by Captain Maho Takahashi

To all crew,

Season 2 has officially wrapped. I know, it felt significantly shorter than the last season, as we were done with it in a mere year and four months as opposed to the almost two years that it took to write Season 1, but more exciting things lay ahead in Season 3.

So, what better way to start Season 3 with a bang than with a time travel mission? Shall we gaze into a crystal ball and see what future might lie in store for the Starship Myogi?

2397: Amid escalating tensions along and within the Romulan Neutral Zone, the USS Myogi and USS Akagi first encounter the newly-emerged Iconian threat when the two ships are ambushed. In the heat of battle, the USS Akagi is lost, and the Myogi herself takes heavy damage from the engagement.

2400: After three years of devastating Iconian attacks, the final stronghold of the Federation alliance is space that once belonged to the Confederacy of Independent Planets. However, it is a battle that is being lost with each passing day. Assigned to patrol the edge of alliance territory is the Lafayette Class USS Myogi A, under the command of Captain Ryosuke Takahashi. During a routine patrol, the Myogi-A encounters a temporal rift, and through it emerges the old USS Myogi; long missing and presumed destroyed years prior.

Sounds like we're in for quite the adventure on this one: I'll be making some changes to the reoccurring characters manifest in the coming days.

We're also starting out with another timeskip: We'll be transitioning to the year 2397 and three more weeks will pass, which puts Maho at 35 weeks pregnant. She's getting close here.

With the new year, we're also going to be changing styles of uniform from the All Good Things.../Endgame style uniform we've used on the sim since its inception to an adaptation of the Odyssey Uniform from Star Trek Online. There are two key differences with this version of the Odyssey uniform: For now, we're retaining our current combadge style, and our traditionally purple colored (and woefully underutilized) Diplomatic detachment shall be changing colors to the lighter blue previously used by our fighter division, with our crack pilots now taking a darker blue to be more in line with their Tokyo counterparts. I've been hard at work getting the ranksets set up and updating avatars, even semi "remastering" some my crappy Photoshop Elements recolors from WAY back in the day, and it's a job that I and hopefully Commander Ebisuzawa will be continuing in the coming days.

We really went far with this mission: Everybody chipped in and did their part (for which, you all will get a complimentary Keisuke Takahashi Fastest Typing in Kanto Award), but there were a few who stood out above the rest, and that kind of exceptionalism is exactly what our sim's highest honor, the Maho Takahashi Ribbon of Excellence, exists to highlight:

Maho Takahashi Ribbon of Excellence recipients:

-Commander Ichika Misono
-Lieutenant Commander Kurumi Ebisuzawa
-Lieutenant Commander Brennyn Scott
-Lieutenant JG Jane Sinclair

Most noteworthy among our recipients is Commander Scott, who has managed to keep up with the sim despite moving from the Florida panhandle to Texas. Having done a grueling multi-state move from Illinois to Florida myself, I know it's not an easy ask, and yet Commander Scott has managed to do so! Congratulations to Scott and our other recipients!

Before we close out the awards, we have one more to mention: During this mission, our fourth launch anniversary came and went on May 22. So, let's take a moment and salute our remaining launch crew:

Launch Crew Commendation Recipients:

-Commander Ichika Misono
-Lieutenant Commander Kurumi Ebisuzawa

Congratulations, and thank you both for your service!

You all probably know the spiel by now, so I'll leave you with this instead: Consider it a gift for sticking with us through this truncated second season. You are the lifeblood of this sim, and we wouldn't have made it these past four years without you:

Until next time,
