Mission update and Christmas Mission
Posted on Thu Dec 2nd, 2021 @ 4:58am by Captain Maho Takahashi
To all crew;
First of all, welcome to December! It's hard to believe, but we're finally at the point where we can take the mission to the next step: I have started the JP for the senior staff meeting that I outlined in my mission plan in my previous news item. For a time, it felt like we'd never get to this point, yet here we are!
Of course, reaching this point in December, at the beginning of the holiday season isn't entirely great timing, as everyone's holiday plans will slow them down and prevent them from posting regularly; this is a slowdown I have prepared for, and have prepared an optional side mission for you all to participate in, should you feel like doing some festive-themed writing: This mission of course, is Christmas Vacation, named obviously after the classic comedy film 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation'. For any players, either outside the US or within, who have never heard of it, I encourage you to check it out, because it's well worth the watch.
Christmas Vacation has no set timeline or storyline and takes place outside our main mission storyline, so feel free to write whatever you like, so long as it's Christmas-themed and there's no blowing stuff up. If you're interested in writing for Christmas Vacation, be sure to select it from the active missions tab when you begin writing your post. Christmas Vacation will run through January and into February if need be, though no later than Valentine's Day.
For those who are curious (mainly my future self), here is my updated roadmap for Handling the Fallout, barring any saved mission posts:
1. The Myogi's senior staff will be briefed on the assignment. At the end of the briefing, Maho will take a moment to inform the crew that she and Keisuke plan to renew their wedding vows before they leave on their assignment, as a way of legitimizing their marriage after their wedding was ruthlessly ripped from them, and that all crew are invited to attend the ceremony, which will be held on the holodeck, the way the wedding should have been done in the first place.
2. Maho and Keisuke renew their wedding vows. After that, get your dancing shoes on, because in addition to the actual vow renewal ceremony itself, Maho and Keisuke are also holding a reception without apology and certainly without holding back. One way or another, the Takahashis WILL get that perfect wedding.
3. The morning after the vow renewal and reception, the Myogi will depart on its assignment.
Once those events are wrapped up, we can begin our next Mission, Trade Troubles.
December is off to a great start thus far, and I look forward to what lays in store for the coming month!
Regards,
Commander Maho Takahashi
