Mission:
Junichi Koyama
Location: Interrogation Room: Basement of the Governor's Mansion
Alisha was led by a pair of security officers towards another series of rooms completely as the Governor took his leave of her 'to deal with other matters'. A third guard had walked with Hartley for another minute, listening to instructions and nodding with a few words in response, then broke off to join the others in their escort. "We're going to take her to the VIP cells." The man took off his cap, revealing a completely shaven head before putting it back on. "We're going to be asking you a few more questions, Lieutenant, just some background stuff."
"Ah don't hafta answer them, suh." Alisha responded, "That's how it works, ya' know, I get my lawyer and don't hafta answer any questions."
"Of course, of course," He said genially, "We're just going to ask a few things, like if you need medical attention? or if you're on any medication? Have you had a meal in the last few hours? Are you hungry?" He gestured to another hallway that angled down.
"Oh, those can't hurt." Alisha said jauntily, though fortunately she knew what her cover would have said and they just so happened to be the same as her own: "No medication, no allergies that Ah'm aware of and aside from a bit of soreness from when Ah was cuffed before, Ah'm not in any pain at't'all. And while Ah haven't had anythin' since last night, Ah'm a bit too on edge to keep anythin' down, but thank you for askin'!"
"Good, good." There was a door at the end of this hallway and as they approached, it slid open to reveal a table, restraints visible on it and Alisha stopped. A snap from Baldy's fingers sounded and the other two guards grabbed her arms and began to drag her towards the table. "That means we don't have to worry about a doctor being present. On the table."
"You can't!" Alisha protested, struggling against the two holding her, eyes wide open and not in any sort of jest, "Ah'm just bein' held for my lawyer to arrive, Ah have rights!"
"It's just going to be your word against ours, honey, and we've got lots of camera footage of you sitting quietly in a cell." He smiled as she tried to kick one of his guards and only got a glancing blow in before she was brought under control again. "But if you just answer our questions, there won't be any discomfort. All we're asking for is a bit of honesty in your answers." He helped his two men get her on the table and after a few more seconds of struggling, got the restraints attached to several locations. Wrists, ankles, upper arms and one across the abdomen.
"Ow!" She yelled at him, "That's too tight!" Alisha squirmed trying to get a hand out, but couldn't and a bit of actual panic set in as the sound of water filling a metal bucket came from behind her head while other metallic sounds echoed in the background.
"Let's start off with an easy question, why don't we?" His voice was genial still as he lifted a bucket, "What's your name, your real name, that is."
"Willa Donahue," Alisha tried to crane her neck to get a look around, but only succeeded in putting pressure on it and being able to look to the side, "Ah'm an astrographics officer on board the USS Valiant, a junior grade Lieutenant."
"So we're back to lying again. Blatchky, Gramble, over here." The two other men were on either side of her head in about an instant and between the two of them they placed a cloth over her nose and mouth and clamped down on it while holding her head faceup. "Last chance."
"Ah'm Willa Donahue." It was muffled but somewhat clear even so. "Serial numb-" She was cut off as the man started pouring the water over the cloth and her eyes opened wide. She'd been through training on resisting interrogation including techniques but nothing prepared her for this. At first she tried to hold her breath, but as the water splashed over her face her body began to rebel and she finally instinctively inhaled, taking a fair amount of water into her lungs instead of air. That caused a coughing fit which tried to expel the water, but instead brought more in. Finally he stopped pouring and they removed the cloth and stepped back as she coughed, unable to move her upper body to really give a good accounting of it.
As water came from her lungs, the coughing had another effect and Alisha puked to the side before continuing on with trying to clear her lungs. Meanwhile, the bald man looked on with complete dispassion as he waited for a pair of minutes to when she'd gotten most of it out, "What is your name?"
"W-Willa D-Donahue," Alisha choked out, "No!" The last was muffled as the cloth was replaced and the water began again. This time, it kept coming for a solid minute as she couldn't help but draw in breathe after breathe of water and again they backed off to let her expel it. "I'm Willa," Her accent was lost at this point as she said it weakly.
"You misunderstand my purpose, Reno, I'm here to get answers." Baldy used her last name, "I can continue this all day, all I'm asking for is some honesty." He nodded to the others and repeated the exercise again.
It was genuinely like drowning, but not while swimming in an ocean or a swimming pool, just nothing but water with air all around. Alisha squeezed her eyes closed to try to shut it out, but the pain in her lungs was too great as she vomited water out all over again, nothing being left in her stomach to come out. The cloth came off again and she felt weaker than before as she cleared her lungs laboriously, an ache in her chest growing out of proportion to anything else she'd ever felt and despair kicked in. Undercover officers knew that they could get caught and knew what it could mean, but everything in their training had a purpose. "Alisha Reno..." She finally gasped out, knowing that she couldn't go through it again, not when the truth here would give her some respite, "USS Myogi, Intelligence..." The words stung as they came out between coughing fits. A dark sense of betrayal in the back of her mind.
"Very good!" He said, setting the bucket down with a clank and showing his face above hers, "You see, that wasn't very hard, was it?" There was a grin on his face, "Now, Miss Alisha Starr Reno, tell me about yourself. You see, we knew who you were already, but your file is pretty skinny, even your alter ego of Alexis Silverstar. We have our sources inside the Federation and we've known for a week who you were. Dating that Jane Sinclair, are you? Do you want to see her again?"
"Y-yes," Alisha got out, closing her eyes to visualize the racer, "B-but I don't know anything you'll want to know! I've been gone from the ship for over a month, things have changed."
"Some things have, but you knew the ship was coming here." Baldy smiled, "What was your mission here, Alisha Reno of Intelligence?" Alisha shook her head and he sighed deeply, gesturing to the two men once more and picking up the bucket. It only took about thirty seconds and a single inhalation before he withdrew the bucket. There was only so long he could do this for, unless he really wanted to risk truly drowning her, but this needed to just be a reminder as she coughed for her life again.
"I was really here to film a movie, but-" Alisha had another coughing fit, "I was given another mission even though I was on leave, I was to investigate the laws in place here and report back." He rattled the bucket, "That was it, to observe and report!"
Baldy put the bucket back down, nodding, "All right, let's take a few minutes for you recover, Miss Reno, then we'll continue on..."
