Mission: The Next Myogi

Captain's log, Starship Myogi:

It's been three weeks since the Confederacy of Independent Planets began the process of rejoining the Federation following the Battle of Braxus. In that time, an Iconian Dyson Sphere has managed to 'jump' from the Andromeda Galaxy to the Iconia System. The report itself was heavily redacted, but I suspect that the figure that Keisuke described encountering on Braxus might have been an Iconian.

Despite intelligence's best efforts, word is getting out, and is drawing concerns not just from the Federation, but the Romulans and even the Klingons. The Romulans, especially, as the Dyson Sphere is now located directly in the Neutral Zone. Three days ago, a Romulan Warbird under cloak went to gather intelligence under cloak and was discovered and destroyed by the Heralds.

According to the latest reports, herald ships continue to emerge from the Dyson Sphere. It's estimated that there are now over forty six thousand ships in the Iconia system, and even these reports might already be outdated. It is likely they have enough firepower to take on every major power in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants.

In the meantime, Starfleet isn't taking chances, and is shipping out new technology to even their older ships to keep their crews safe: This new uniform is more than just for looks- It's made with a poly fiber weave that absorbs energy. Think of it as something like fabric armor designed to protect the wearer. Security has already tested it out, and the results are impressive. These suckers took at least six shots before they compromised- a major improvement from our old uniform, which were compromised in as little as a single shot. Starfleet's tailors have definitely kept busy.

And if the fabric's material composition wasn't enough; this uniform also comes with the inclusion of a personal shield generator, housed within the belt buckle. When activated, it provides a skintight energy forcefield around the body to provide even more protection. With the personal shield generator activated, it took significantly more shots to compromise the uniform. Security didn't give me exact numbers, but safe to say, it was lot higher than six.

In addition to the uniform change, Starfleet has sent a fleetwide memo: They want all civilians off all starships, however they are leaving the final decision to the individual CO. I have spoken with Commander Ebisuzawa about reinstating Miyahara's no civilians policy temporarily, and have advised her to seek out somewhere to send Yaeka where she will be safe. We might not be sent to the front lines, but it is not a risk I am willing to take: I've spoken with Keisuke about, once Kyoko is born, potentially returning to Earth with her whilst I remain here. It's not an ideal choice, but I think Commander Ebisuzawa would agree that it's the right thing to do... Given the Iconians give us enough time to do so...

With the escalating tensions along the Neutral Zone, Commodore Honda has impelented a "buddy system" for Task Force Jomo. No one ship of the task force is to be operating alone anymore, and given the average age of the task force ships, strength in numbers is especially key.

Right now, the Myogi is docked at Starbase 234 while we await our next patrol mate: This time, it's Captain Hartmann's job to babysit us. That's going to thrill Dr. Ryo...

Right now, we're in times unseen since the Dominion Cold War, and I doubt things are going to go any differently now than they did then:
