Mission:
Handling the Fallout
Location: Five-Forward Lounge
Alisha had chosen to wander the hallways of Myogi in some of her relative off-time. She'd gotten together with Alistair, her only other person in Intelligence, and they'd worked it out. But there were several ways to get to know a ship better and there was only so many times one could go over the schematics before just going through them in person. Besides, the entertainer in her really wanted to check out the lounge, to make sure that it was somewhat decent and since Myogi had been a flagship for an Admiral, her hopes were high.
So when she walked into the lounge, she stopped dead in disbelief. The place had tables and chairs, a single adjustable game table, aside from the replicators and the small drinks bar in the corner. A small amount of nausea formed in the pit of her stomach as she shook her head slowly, then more emphatically. She let the door close behind her as she stared around the room. "No. No, no, no." She muttered to herself, placing her PADD on the 'bartop' and opening a blank slate program, "Computer, lock the lounge door, no one in or out." She knew it would only work for people who didn't outrank her, but still...
She got to work on her PADD, already brain deep into what she'd determined to be her new project and patted her beltline for the other small PADD she carried on herself just to reassure herself it was there. She spent about half an hour sketching on the PADD before finally nodding and sighed, tapping her commbadge, "Operations, is there someone you can send to the Five-Forward? It's not an urgent issue, just need someone you can spare for a bit." The answer came almost instantly, then she settled down to wait, adding to her sketch.
The door slid open again as a Third-class Petty Officer walked in, rolling his eyes, "You needed something, Lieutenant?" He asked, looking around for the problem, seeing none.
"Yes, PO." Alisha popped to her feet, "I need someone to make a last-minute trip to the station to pick up a few things. Okay, a lot of things, but you can probably arrange for them from one of the stores, 'Minga's Entertainment' should actually have it all. Get your PADD out." She ordered.
He slowly did as she asked, glancing at the clock on it as he brought it up, "Ma'am, we're due to leave soonish, if you're looking to get things delivered, there may not be time."
Alisha gave him a bit of a glare, "That means you're going to be busy for the next few hours, doesn't it?" She challenged him, "Because we need a Class Five sound system, Minga will know what that entails, two configurable game tables, a dedicated pool table, three dart boards, a complete bar setup with say... A variable drink dispenser with a decent selection. A new full set of tables and chairs, think comfortable seating, not just something neo-modern, a series of eight interlinked holo-emitters that can be synced with the sound system and interactive, of course. A new lighting system, with triple-spotlight capability and call it forty square feet of wood flooring for the stage, it can be real or fake, doesn't matter."
"The ship might not have the funds to handle that sort of acquisition, much less getting the Exec or CO to sign off on using it on all that!" The NCO blurted out as he tried to add up the potential costs of the whole gamut.
"Nope." She dug out a small device and tossed it to him, "I know someone that funds small starships to renovate their entertainment areas to boost morale and well..." Alisha shrugged, "I figure this is as good a use for what she offered me as any, besides, I might be able to get her to come aboard herself to do a little performance."
Live entertainment? That was something the PO could get into, he was somewhat of a connoisseur of live concerts, so he nodded, "You sure it'll cover it?" He asked, already plotting his path to the location she'd suggested, "And Minga will accept it?"
"It's enough." Alisha confirmed, "And yes. Now go, as you said, there really isn't much time." She shooed the petty officer away and sat back down at the table she'd been at before with her sketch. Now, while she waited for him to get back... First step first. She scrawled on yet another PADD,
'The Five-Forward Lounge Is Closed For Renovations!
Please bear with us and be patient as we upgrade to better entertain and serve you!
By order of Lieutenant (jg) Alisha Reno'
"There, that'll work... Now how to get Elena on board?" She muttered to herself as she went to go post her sign.
