Mission: Junichi Koyama
Location: Gamma Zednor Detention Center

The bowls of porridge sat empty in the middle of the room. Kurumi had dozed off, with Yaeka still sleeping on her lap. The sound of the door being unlocked woke Kurumi and three guards entered, each armed with phaser rifles. She looked up at them.

"What do you want?" She asked.

One of them aimed their phaser rifle at her. "Come with us. We have more questions for you!" the man in the middle said. It was the same one before, the one who had beat her.

"Kurumi..." Yaeka said as she stirred.

Kurumi gently slid off the bench and placed Yaeka's head down gently. "I'll be back soon Yaeka. Just go back to sleep." She said softly. She turned to the three men.

"There's no need to drag me. I'll walk."

One of the men's eyes narrowed. "Move." he said simply as he came around her and drove his rifle into her back, nudging her forward. Kurumi ignored it as she was escorted down the corridor back towards the room she had been 'questioned' in before.

Once again she sat down in the chair at the table. "You going to hit me again?" she asked.

"We might." The chief of police said again as he turned to face her. "It all depends how this goes."

Kurumi sat back in her chair and placed her hands behind her head. "Listen. I've told you. I'm not telling you anything!" she said simply. She smiled as she looked at the chief, knowing that she wasn't about to reveal anything to that disgusting excuse of a man.

The chief laughed. "Listen to me Commander. I have ways of making people talk." One of the guards placed a phaser rifle to Kurumi's head.

"I fail to see your point. If you kill me, you'll never get any answers." Kurumi replied with a grin.

"I have no intention on killing you." He said simply. He waved his hand and the guard retracted his phaser rifle. Kurumi saw out of the corner of her eye that he was altering the setting. "So, are you going to tell me the access codes for the Myogi?"

"No chance in hell." Kurumi said.

The guard fired the phaser. It had been set at the lowest setting. Not strong enough to stun or kill anyone, but enough to cut through clothing and burn the target. The beam struck Kurumi in the upper arm, and she winced at the sudden pain.

"Let me try this again..." he said. "Are you going to tell me the access codes for your Starship?"

"You'll have to do better than that..."

He waved his hand again. This time the guard pointed the phaser at Kurumi's exposed stomach and fired two shots. Kurumi screamed out in pain as she fell out of the chair holding her stomach. Three more shots followed, striking her in the back, one in the middle of her spine and the other at her shoulder blades. She couldn't help it, she let out a piercing scream as the pain and burning began to flood her body.

"You..."

She scrunched her eyes up as the guard seemed to take some sort of sick pleasure in using their rifles to burn more parts of her body. "I will never...."

It seemed to last for hours. But overall it was only a few minutes. Kurumi was soon reduced to a mess on the floor. Her clothing was now covered in holes, her skin burning and sizzling under where they had shot her. The intense heat of the burns felt like knives and were starting to overpower her will. The smell of her own flesh burning wanted to make her throw up, but she couldn't manage that as her stomach was empty. She managed to cough up a little bit of stomach bile as she tried to fight on.

Eventually they picked her up and threw her into the chair. She looked exhausted and in pain. She was holding herself to try and regain some sort of control.

"Well. Are you going to tell me the access codes for that starship now? Or do I have to take more drastic action?" the chief asked simply. He had by not lit a cigarette and was smoking it in front of her, a sick look of pleasure and enjoyment spreading across his ugly face.

Kurumi opted to remain silent. She hoped that her wounds from this torture would be enough to warrant her silence and therefore he would give up. She was wrong. "Not talking huh..."

He simply held his hand up and clicked his fingers. The door of the room opened and another guard stepped in. Kurumi's eyes opened wide as she saw that he was dragging someone else into the room.

"Yaeka!" Kurumi exclaimed. The man had a tight grip on Yaeka's arm. He seemed to be digging his fingernails into her skin, forcing her to stand. Tears ran down from her eyes as she was held there.

"Leave her out of this!" Kurumi demanded.

"Oh, so I see you've met out little pet? Its such a shame that my men don't have the skills to look after it." the chief chuckled. He walked over to one of the guards who had been shooting Kurumi with the phaser rifles and took it off of her.

"What are the access codes to the Starship Myogi!" He demanded as he pointed the phaser rifle at Yaeka.

Kurumi looked over to Yaeka and then back at the chief. She had noticed that he hadn't changed the setting on the rifle. She looked back at Yaeka. She could see the glistening tears in her eyes. She could see the desperation and the sheer look of fear in her expression.

"I said to leave her out of it!" Kurumi said.

"Tut tut!" he said. His finger pulled back the trigger.

"NO!" Kurumi shouted as she tried to lurch forward. The phaser beam struck Yaeka in the shoulder.

The room was filled by an ear piercing high pitched scream from Yaeka as the phaser burned through her clothes and skin. The scream seemed to go on for ages before slowly it stopped. Kurumi stared at Yaeka, she had promised to protect her and yet she was here now and powerless to do so.

"YOU MONSTER!" Kurumi shouted. She tried to get up, she wanted to vault over the table and punch this man in the face. But she was held back by the other guards.

"I'll ask ONE MORE TIME!" he said as he raised the rifle and aimed at Yaeka's head. He then tapped on the controls of the rifle. "Tell me the codes to the Myogi! Or I WILL kill her!" he said his voice raised. "Its about time we put her out of her misery anyways!"

Yaeka raised her head and looked at Kurumi. They locked eyes for a brief second.

"One..."

Kurumi could see her fear in her eyes. She could see her crying, she could see something more though.

"Two..."

She looked helpless, defenceless and alone. Just like what had happened to her own child. She couldn't help him, she had been powerless and unable to help him back then. She couldn't let this happen again.

"Thre..."

"I'll give you the codes damn it!" Kurumi said. "Just don't hurt her anymore!"

The chief lowered the phaser rifle. "Good." He said. "I know that you'd come to your senses Commander. Well done, you've taken the first step in the right direction."

He placed the rifle on the table and pulled out a PADD. "Insert your codes here." he said simply as he slid the PADD over to Kurumi. She hesitated at first but then took the PADD. It was a simple access area where she could put in any code she likes.

"Ok, here you go." She said as she tapped on the PADD. "This is the code you can use to access the Myogi's computer systems. It should allow you control of the ship. You'll need to transmit it directly to the ships subspace array for it to work."

"Good." The chief said with a smile. "Once we have operational control of your ship. I'm sure Governor Hartley will be pleased."

"Keep her here while I try these codes out."

"You don't trust me?" Kurumi asked with a sly smile.

"Not at all. If these codes don't work, we'll kill the girl." The chief told her. "So, you better hope they work. Because after we kill you, we'll make sure you join her. Your filthy blood doesn't deserve to carry the oxygen of this planet."

Kurumi sat back in her chair. She crossed her arms as she watched the Chief put the code into the computer terminal behind him. She watched as he uplinked the code she had provided to the computer.

The screen showed that the code was being transmitted to the Myogi. The Chief seemed a little impatient as he waited for a response. After a moment or two, he got his response. One he was not expecting at all.
