The Emissary of the Pah Wraiths

Timeline: After 'After Shift'

Following their forced removal from Five Forward, Senior Chief Petty Officer Ehur Len and Lieutenant JG Idohl Ailiri now knew that capturing the Emissary of the Pah Wraiths would be a lot more difficult with other crew around. If they were going to successfully claim the True Believers' bounty, it would need to be done with minimal witnesses. Ideally with nobody around.

Fortunately, the two of them had been monitoring the Emissary's movements, and knew that her route between the lounge and the quarters to which she had been assigned took her right past Idohl's quarters. So, the two Bajorans formulated a plan: They would both return to their quarters and change back into their uniforms to appear as if they had complied with the orders they had been given. However, Ehur would return to Deck 6 and "patrol" the deck while Idohl waited in her quarters. The Emissary would have to walk past to return to her quarters. If they caught her getting off the turbolift in time, they'd be able to make their move.

Ehur's "patrol route" took him right past the turbolifts that served deck 6, and sure enough, on one of his rotations, he spotted Taiga Aisaka stepping off the turbolift.

Taiga was walking alone. Ryuuji was still on his own personal tour of the Myogi. She had just arrived onto deck six where the quarters she had been assigned were located. She walked along, not really paying much attention to her surroundings as she made her way along the long corridor.

Once Ehur was out of Aisaka's earshot, he tapped his combadge.

"She's heading your way..." He said.

Idohl emerged from her quarters, pretending like she was just stepping out for a breath of air, she stretched for a moment as if she were about to perform her late night laps around the deck before turning to spot Captain Aisaka. Wearing her uniform once again and lacking her Miyahara headgear, it was difficult to tell that she was the same woman from the lounge.

"Captain Aisaka:" She called out in a warm voice.

"Huh..." Taiga said as she stopped to look at the woman. "Yes?" she asked.

"Hey, I just wanted to apologize for earlier." Idohl said. "I don't think it takes a genius to tell you that everyone's being just a bit too uptight at the moment, especially after everything that's happened..."

Taiga nodded. "I see. Well thankyou," she replied to the woman. She turned after accepting the apology to walk around her and head back to her assigned quarters.

Suddenly, something cool touched Taiga's throat.

"Easy there, baby bear:" Ehur said, having snuck up behind Taiga. "That's a knife against your throat: I'd hate for you to slit it doing something stupid, because you're more valuable alive than you are dead."

Taiga stopped dead in her tracks. Her eyes narrowed. She didn't move upon feeling the cold metal blade against her throat. "Exactly what do you think you're doing?"

"Taking the Emissary of the Pah Wraiths off the street." Ehur responded. "If Starfleet is not going to silence the Pah Wraiths' poisonous checkmate, the True Believers will..."

Taiga let out a long sigh. "Listen. I'm going to give you one warning. Let me go, and I might overlook this. If you don't, I can't guarantee that I won't hurt you." She told him calmy as her eyes darted around the corridor checking out her surroundings.

"Your silver tongue won't work on me, Emissary;" Ehur said. "For I place my faith in the Prophets, and no Pah Wraith will ever get me to lick their boot!"

"I am no fucking Emisarry!" Taiga exclaimed. She swiftly, quickly and accurately kicked her foot backwards, driving her boot into the man's groin.

Ehur yowled in pain as he doubled over.

Bursting free of his grip as he went down. She then quickly stomped down hard on the mans wrist. A loud crack echoed around the corridor followed by a clang of the knife on the deck. She had disarmed him and her eyes quickly followed the weapon. She swiftly ducked down and grabbed it. With one swish she threw the knife over the man, sending it flying down the corridor.

The knife darted down the corridor eventually meeting one of the wall consoles, lodging itself into the panel causing it to spark and splutter as the blade penetrated the glass surface.

A creepy smile spread across Taiga's face as she bounced up and down on her feet from side to side, her fists raised. "You know, I've been looking for an excuse for a fight ever since I came aboard this sorry excuse for a Starship!" she exclaimed. "But there is no way in hell I'm letting you get away with this!"

Suddenly, Idohl jumped Taiga with a savage scream, any trace of the sweetness she had displayed just a few moments ago was gone. Being a fellow woman meant she was more evenly matched with the Emissary of the Pah Wraiths, and was going to fall as easily as Ehur did.

"You could have come quietly..." She said through gritted teeth as the two women tussled on the floor. "I hate to lose a million credits, but now, it's clear that I'll have to..."

As Idohl struggled to reach her own knife, she wasn't paying attention to where her hand attempting to restrain Taiga was, leaving it open for a surprise attack.

Taiga, pulled the other womans hair, yanking it hard. Then as her hand tried to muffle her, she took the opportunity to bit hard into it. Her teeth cut the skin as she bit down. She obviously didn't seem to care how she was getting this other woman off her, just that she would take any means to do so.

"OW! YOU LITTLE BITCH!" Idohl screamed as she was forced to release Aisaka.

After being released, she jumped back up and spat any of the blood from her mouth. She then drove her boot into the other woman's stomach, folllowed by a kick to her nose breaking it and spilling blood on the deck.

She jumped back, her fists raised as she readied herself again. She took the brief moment and opportunity to tap her comm badge. "Aisaka to Security! Deck Six now on my location!" she called as she took a few steps back to keep her distance.

"AISAKAAAAAA!!!!" Came an angry bellow.

It was Maho, looking perhaps the angriest she had been.

"She threw the first punch, Captain!" Ehur groaned. "Don't let her convince you otherwise..."

"You disrespectful little asshole!" Maho said, stepping forward and grabbing Taiga's wrist. "You're coming with me!"

Taiga pulled back hard against Maho, releasing her wrist and taking another step back. "No I am NOT!" Taiga said her voice raised at Maho. She glared at Maho, "Lay another hand on me Captain and I'll have you court martialed!"

She then glared at the two officers on the deck. "These two shits tried to abduct me! So I defended myself!" Taiga explained as she returned her glare to Maho. "You think I get a thrill of beating up officers on someone else's ship?!"

"You might as well fucking do!" Maho said. "I know you hate this ship and everything it stands for, but I didn't know you hated us this fucking much! I ought to be the one having you court martialed over this!"

Taiga sighed as she crossed her arms. "Tell me, why would I call security if I was the one beating them up?!" She asked with a scowl. "Come one, even you're not that stupid!"

"Maybe you just can't help yourself but to lie!" Maho responded. "Maybe lying comes as naturally to you as breathing!"

Taiga rolled her eyes. "You just won't let this shit go will you?" she replied. "I called security because these people tried to abduct me. Do you really think I wouldn't defend myself?"

"She's lying to you, Captain! Ehur interjected. "Don't believe her!"

"ENOUGH!" Maho snapped. "Evidently, we have two conflicting reports on what happened: Chief, Lieutenant, your shifts from now until we reach Beta Antares will be covered by other personnel, as you are both hereby being suspended pending a full investigation on what happened here."

"But, Captain-!" Ehur tried to object.

"No buts, Chief!" Maho cut him off. "If Captain Aisaka's allegations are true, then having you continue to be on active duty is a risk I can't afford to take."

Maho then turned to Taiga.

"And Aisaka, don't look so smug like you're getting out of this scotch free either!" She said. "I'm going to do what I should have done from the get-go, and have you more closely monitored!"

Maho then lowered her voice.

"And let this be your first and final warning, Aisaka:" She said in a threatening tone. "You lay another finger on a member of this crew with the intent to harm them, and I will drop us out of warp wherever the fuck we are and signal our position to Starfleet so they can send another ship to pick you up! And I will also send a detailed report on how belligerent and hostile you acted towards us to the JAG office so that your ability to command may be reevaluated."

Taiga walked right upto Maho, getting very close and into her face. "And I'd welcome it! Anything to get off this hell hole of a starship!" she said. With that she withdrew and turned on a heel. "I think I'll spend the rest of this trip in my quarters. Don't call me, I'll call you."

With that said she began to walk off without even so much of a glance back at Maho.
