Mission:
Trade Troubles
Location: USS Myogi
Timeline: After "Licking Our Wounds (Part 1)," Concurrent with "The Next Step"
Previously, on Star Trek Myogi:
Elisabeth sat on a biobed holding a cold compress to her head. The diplomat had staggered into sickbay after the violent motions of the ship had caused her to lose her footing and hit her head hard enough to draw blood. However, Elisabeth knew she was a lower priority patient, even as she received a compress for her head, for from her biobed, she had a view of the crewman actively bleeding out over the doctors.
Fortunately, Elisabeth's bleeding appeared to be slowing down, as less blood was turning up on the most recent compress she had been handed. However, she was still in no shape to report in for her department.
And now, the continuation:
Patients were still continuing to come in a steady stream, but a quick glance at the computer revealed things were under control for now, which left Bree to attend to the lower priority injuries, but those that were still too seriously injured to be sent to the shelters or to quarters. Head injuries like the one Elizabeth suffered certainly counted.
Approaching the diplomat with a small smile even as she was reaching efficiently for her tricorder, she offered, "I know diplomacy isn't exactly working right now, but I never expected a diplomat to try to test how hard her head was like this." She was teasing, of course, and a second leader added, "I'm Bree Scott, my official role aboard is as chief counselor, but given my medical training and the circumstances, and helping out here. Mind if I take a look at your head?"
"Elisabeth Churchill, chief diplomat if you couldn't guess." Elisabeth said removing the compress from her head for Bree to take a look at her injury. "And perhaps you should hold a joke like that until you get thrown off your feet by the violent motion of the ship?"
"My apologies," Scott replied, bowing her head for a moment to communicate her sincerity. "I wasn't trying to make light of your injury, only to try to relax you with a bit of levity. I am sorry if I came across insensitive." Scott then reached for her tricorder, already beginning to scan as she asked, " to your knowledge, did you lose consciousness after hitting your head?"
"No;" Elisabeth responded. "I think it was a glancing blow, not hard enough to knock me out, but hard enough to draw blood. I landed on my feet and put my hand to my head as a reactionary measure and when I brought my hand back in front of my face, I saw there was blood on it and came here right away."
Making a point to make eye contact with the diplomat even as she continued scanning, Scott answered, "You did the right thing. While even minor head wounds can bleed like crazy, it's also true that even a glancing blow can cause more serious damage than people expect. I'm glad you didn't think twice about coming here. I imagine it was pretty scary to see all that blood." The scan finished and Scott announced, "the good news is, I don't see any brain damage. The bad news is, you've got the makings of one serious not on your head and a heck of a headache, I'd imagine. Don't worry, though, I can take care of all of that for you."
"Thank you, dear;" Elisabeth said. "That'd be lovely."
Once he'd stripped the bloody shirt he put on a new uniform top and tapped his comm badge to report in. "Sickbay here, we are filling with wounded but no injuries to my staff at present. Dr. Scott is providing tremendous assistance in the Medical bays. We have multiple triage areas set up and are rotating staff through so we can take the most urgently wounded. I'll keep you informed."
"Acknowledged, sickbay;" Maho said. "Bridge out."
"Takahashi to Takahashi." Keisuke's voice came over the coms channel.
"Go ahead, Takahashi:" Maho responded.
"It seems we've taken a direct hit to Five Forward." Keisuke reported. "Torpedo hit must've peeled it open like a tin can. Force field seems to be holding for now, but I think for everyone's safety, we should declare Five Forward to be off-limits until we're back in spacedock for repairs."
"Make it so, Takahashi:" Maho ordered. At this point, she wasn't considering the possibility of being able to revert Five Forward back to Project Jomo spec, but rather she was concerned for the safety of the crew. If the force field failed while people were in the lounge and those people were sucked out into space, their deaths would be on her hands.
Senior Chief Petty Officer William Pitsenbarger was cursing under his breath as he worked furiously on stopping a femoral bleed on a young female damage control specialist. She had been caught in the blast that had ripped open Five Forward, even now as he worked, he could see the flickering of the Force field that was keeping them alive for now. He looked over at Petty Officer 2nd Class Aisla "Have you and the rest of the medics finished moving the wounded from here to the alternate Triage sites in Holodecks Three and Four?" he inquired. "Yes Chief, Nurse Dion is supervising the care in Holodeck Three and Nurse Jen is supervising the wounded in Holodeck Four. The Black are in Holodeck three and the Yellow and Green are in Holodeck Four. We are sending the Red immediately to Sickbay, and the Whites get a minimal treatment and sent back to work." she replied. William nodded, "Okay, have the relay medics take her to sickbay, then get me five enlisted so we can move the dead into the hallway. Go knows how long we have before the Force field fails. I imagine that the bridge is going to put Five Forward of limits soon." he said as he looked about. "Aye, Aye Chief." replied Aisla and she went to find some enlisted. William sighed and hit his combadge =^= Bridge and sickbay, be advised that casualty collection and triage point Five Forward has been evacuated of all wounded, five more minutes to clear the dead. Holodeck Three is for Black only and Holodeck Four is for Yellow and Green. All others are treated and sent back to work. =^=
Senior Chief Petty Officer William Pitsenbarger grabbed Petty Officer 2nd Class Aisla by the shoulders as she returned with five enlisted personnel from the science division. "You are now senior medic here. You can do it, get the dead out of Five forward then start sweeping for wounded. If you come across any damage control teams update them of the damage Five forward took, they will handle it." With that he released her to go about her duties.
Tapping his combadge he inquired =^= Bridge, has any medical personnel, specifically trained combat medics beamed over onto the Nikko with the third wave? If not, I am on my way now, Chief Pitsenbarger out. =^=
=/\= Dr. Erebos is there, and I am sure she would appreciate the assist Chief.=/\= Came Victor's voice over the line, as the comm line to sickbay was still open, and he replied to the question for his department.
=A="Copy that, Pitsenbarger:"=A= Keisuke responded. =A="You are authorized for emergency beam over to assist our medical staff on the Nikko."=A=
Senior Chief Petty Officer William Pitsenbarger made two stops on his way to the Transporter Room 2, one to a ship armory spot to get a Compression Phaser Rifle, and a Causalty Collection Point to grab an emergency medical kit backpack and medical tricorder. He arrived at the transporter room "Okay let's get this show on the road." he said looking at the transporter technician. He got in a kneeling position with his weapon at the ready, "The rest of you I recommend you crouch down and get weapons up, never know what we will find." he said as the transporter hummed and changed the world into blue like light.
=/\= Engineering to Bridge =/\= Pratt called in. =/\= I've got the RCS thrusters operational at 97.8% the best you'll get outside of a Starbase at the moment. Other sections of the ship have been locked down, and damage assessments have come in at 78% functional. You've got er' back the Myogi for the time being. Warp is still standing at now 7.7. near the end of this, I can beg out Warp 8. But then like I said, we'd need full Starbase workup for main engines to return to normal, Status report remains at Yellow Captain Takahashi. =/\= Pratt did his best between flaring open command panels that were sparking periodically.
"Thank you, engineering;" Maho responded. "Let's hope we don't take any more hits from that Nebula class before then."
