Mission: Insurrection
Location: Starfleet Academy
Timeline: After 'The Battle for Starfleet Academy (Part 3)'

Previously, on Star Trek Myogi:

Rize glanced over at her party, then back at the cadets. It was clear they were scared shitless right now, and they weren't going to take verbal assurances for an answer.

Sighing, Rize turned to face her fellow officers. "Lay down your weapons," she instructed them.

"Commander." Kiki said, eyes widening, but still avoiding aiming at the cadets, although her rifle twitched towards them before she got it back towards where they'd been coming from, "This isn't a good idea, we don't know when the rioters are going to catch up again."

"That's an order, Petty officer," Rize commanded, shooting Kiki a stern look.

And now, the continuation:

With a slight sigh, Kozakura set the safety on her rifle, "Yes, ma'am." She said resignedly, slowly crouching to place her weapon on the ground, but leaving the pistol safely holstered where it was. Standing slowly as well, hands away from her body, she took two steps back and glanced back and forth.

Mai put her own sidearm down and then adjusted her single eyeglass.

"You want proof that we mean you no harm?" Rize remarked, setting her own phaser rifle and slowly backing away. "here's all the proof you should need; would we be making this gesture if we were one of them?"

Seeing the act of the Starfleet party setting down their weapons, the female cadet who had warned Rize to stay back signaled to her classmates to lower their weapons as well.

"We were hiding in our home room." She explained. "We barricaded the door but they got through anyway. There was a struggle and they overpowered us. We don't know where they were taking us."

During the exchange, Mai moved slowly toward the cadets and began treating someone's injury.

Rize carefully sized up the ragtag band of cadets. "Is this everyone?" she inquired. "Are any other groups you may know of who are still trapped in the complex?"

"Ma'am, all us cadets were separated when the shelter in place order went into effect." The female cadet reported. "I don't know about the statuses of any of the other groups that sheltered in place, just ours."

"Would you be able to guess where the other cadets might have gone?" Kiki asked from her position well below the height of the female cadet, "We're here to help you all, any sort of information would help us help them."

"When I was a cadet..." Wyndon began and then looked at the young woman. "Are the study houses that cadets could rent for private study and the odd party still just off campus?"

"She's right," Rize remarked. "following the Dominion War, the old study houses were torn down and rebuilt to double as bomb shelters; you could hunker down in those things for at least 48 hours until help arrived. it's more likely the cadets would attempt to make their way there as opposed to the service tunnels, as they're much more well known..."

Rize glanced back up at the Cadet who was clearly the leader of their group. "This may be a bit of a longshot, Cadet, but it would appear that your classmates turn to you for guidance. We could use someone like you to convince the others that we're here to rescue them; What's your name?"

"Hikage Miyakawa, ma'am." The cadet responded. "Cadet Senior Grade."

At that moment, another group of rioters were approaching down the hallway. However, this group didn't charge like the rest, calmly approaching the now-enlarged group of Starfleet officers and cadets.

"Well, well, well, what have we here?" A man who appeared the be the group's leader called out. "Looks like we found a bunch of Starfleet babies... Ooh, and their badass mamas, mowing down their own countrymen without hesitation to save the hides of their initiates."

The man chuckled.

"You know, I thought it was fucked up that Starfleet sends its people to go kill Romulan babies, but to kill your countrymen, that each and every one of you fine men and women took an oath to protect? That is a whole new kind of ice cold!" He said. "Perhaps it's true, then, that Starfleet no longer represents us, if they're going to so easily kill us if we disagree with them. What do you think, fellas? Do you think these people pointing their guns at us, fingers on their triggers represent us?"

"NO!" The rest of the group called out.

"So, what do you think needs to be done about-!"

Suddenly, the group of rioters fell, having been hit by the stun set phasers the cadets had picked back up.

"You talk too much..." Cadet Hikage muttered before turning back to Rize. "We should probably get moving. These assholes are just going to keep coming."

"Commander, we can't leave the cadets here," Mai said, "but we can't take them with us either. Aside from one or two guides, I recommend we have the others beamed off-site, whether to a ship in orbit or just somewhere far enough away that there aren't any rioters."

"Escort them back to the service tunnels and wait for our signal," Rize instructed. "If anyone who isn't us tries to force their way down there, I grant you permission to shoot them as you see necessary. Cadet Hikage, you'll be helping us in locating any further cadets who are trapped on the premises. As everyone else, you're with me; is everyone okay with this game plan going forward, or do we have any objectors?"

"No, ma'am" Hikage said.

"Then let's move out!" Rize ordered, glancing back at Mai and nodding one final time. "Godspeed, Petty Officer."

"You as well, Commander," Mai said. She collected her sidearm and called out to the cadets. "Cadets! With me!" She turned and led the group, all the youths aside from Hikage, down toward the service tunnels and to safety.
