Mission: Indivisible

Previously, on Star Trek: Myogi:

"Right now, the calculations are pointing towards the Elachi 'returning to base,' as it were. That being the aforementioned Braxus system." Erica explained. "I know it's likely in the interests of half the fleet to smother the Confederacy in the cradle. For far too long, we've been complacent in allowing this sickness to thrive, so a more firm response is not only necessary, but required if we're going to keep this federation from tearing itself in two."

Captain Misaka cleared her throat. "Luckily, I have some additional data on the Elachi. Provided by Captain Aisaka of the Starship Tokyo." She said. "She made a rater excellent tactical analysis of their battle strategies. It seems as if Starfleet seems to have ignored her report."

"By all means, Captain," Ichika nodded as she stepped aside and motioned for Mikoto to take the podium.

"According to the sensor data from the Tokyo and cross referenced with data from the Armitage. The Elachi have the ability to 'drop' out of subspace anywhere they please." Misaka explained. "Instead of warp drive they seem to 'jump' through subspace and theoretically would cover huge distances in that time."

"The Elachi seem to use a form of disruptor weapons technology which is electromagnetically charged. They go through shield frequencies as if they weren't there. The Tokyo and Armitage took heavy losses when ambushed and the Oceania was destroyed with all hands." Misaka explained. "However we do believe we know what the Elachi want..."

She switched the screen to show a captured Elachi Vessel floating in a Federation drydock. "This ship was captured in the Gamma Zednor system. The sane system that the Tokyo and the Myogi assisted in repelling an Elachi assault on pur starbase there." Misaka told them all. "Starfleet Intelligence is allowing me to share this with all of you, and trust ne getting this information was not easy."

Maho lowered her head into her hand with the mention of Gamma Zednor. It was a place that she would like to forget.

"After compiling reports from the crew of the Tokyo and studying this 'transport ship". We believe the Elachi abduct humanoid species for one purpose. Reproduction." Misaka let that sink in. "From what we can tell, female humanoids are turned into living nurseries until they no longer become useful. Males are altered at a DNA level to become Elachi. It wpuld appear this fate is what happens to everyone they capture eventually. It's a fate worse than being assimilated by the Borg if you ask me. At least you have a chance of liberation; with the Elachi once they turn you into them, it's game over. You're Elachi for however long they live."

''Liberated Bord are still Borg" Kael interjected. "They need specialized care and routine maintenance for their mechanical parts. They too are Borg for however long they live. So let's not try to make the Elachi sound worse than they actually are. Did starfleet intelligence happened to mention when we are expected to receive replacements for our casualties?"

"I'm not sure you understand the gravity of the situation, Lieutenant, so allow me to spell it out for you:" S'Mira responded to the doctor's rather snide comment. "Imagine having every molecule in your body rearranged and altered, and how incredibly painful that alone would be. And then, once the procedure is done, nothing is left of you. You cease to exist, and in your place is a newly-created Elachi. While what you said is true, as anyone assimilated by the Borg would still retain pieces of their Borg identity after liberation- a good example of this being Annika Hansen- once the Elachi finish transforming you into one of them, your ass is erased from existence. In all my years of experience, only officers with an especial death wish would downplay the idea of being erased from existence."

My ass? Kael groaned internally. "We have a word for being ''erased from existence" and we call it ''death.'' Like those nine dead from the previous attack. 20 more who might not make it. But it seems to me you are more interested in the subject of pain."

"Due to the urgency of the situation at hand, we may not have time to take on replacements," Ichika clarified before things got too far out of hand. "Any departments which lack sufficient staffing at this time are encouraged to fill out a request form and submit it directly to Captain Hartmann, who has offered to supply us with volunteers from the Akagi in whatever capacity they may be needed."

"Ahem." Misaka cleared her throat to silence the room. "What's important here is that we need to find a way to combat them." She looked at the other Captain's. "We have several starships here. It's about time we pulled our resources and put our crews on the task of tracking and combating the Elachi. Next time I don't intend to be caught with my pants down."

"And we will." Maho responded. "That is why we are asking each of our collective crews to maintain a state of tactical readiness. We're not out of the woods yet, and right now, our best bet is to focus our efforts on finding out where the Elachi have gone before taking the fight to them."

"I was studying the sensor logs and noticed that there are surges of energy when the Elachi revery to realspace." Ami mentioned as she paged down her PADD after taking notes about the Elachi's weaponry, "I'd like the help of our Science section to look into their rift structures, try to determine if they can crack them open anywhere they want, or if there are spatial conditions required. I'll also get to work on trying to counter their weapons fire, or at least mitigate it. If shields are of no use, then I'll have to think in terms of armor or something else."

"You're welcome to make use of the Alita's facilities." Tsuneo offered. "We might not have much, but our facilities are much more advanced than even the Akagi's."

"Whatever extra work we need to do, we need to do it soon." Maho said. "Because once we know where the Elachi have gone with our people, we'll be shipping out."
