Mission:
The Next Myogi
Location: Unknown
Timeline: After 'Up the Creek (Part 3)'
Previously, on Star Trek: Myogi:
Keisuke trailed off when he noticed a peculiar sight on the viewscreen:
"What... In the unholy hell... Is that?" He asked, raising a finger to the viewscreen.
The object that Keisuke was pointing at was another ship. One that looked Federation in design, but was something that nobody on the Myogi had seen before: The ship shared the same basic shape as their New Orleans class cruiser, and even retained features such as the three mounted torpedo cannons, but much of the ship's design language reflected more modern ships of the time, such as the Armitage and Odyssey classes.
And now, the conclusion:
"Looks like the unholy lovechild of an Armitage and a New Orleans." Maho muttered. "Tactical analysis, Miss Ebisuzawa:"
"Its definitely a Federation Starship. But I don't recognize the class," Kurumi said. "But she's packing, she seriously outguhs us."
"Is there any way you can magnify the image to get a better view of their registry number, Lieutenant?" Ichika inquired.
"Magnifying on the registry number now..." Kurumi said switching the viewscreen.
Maho's breath caught in her throat as Keisuke's jaw dropped.
"No way!" Keisuke gasped.
Maho pushed herself up from her seat and slowly waddled forward to stand just behind Jane at the helm station. Placing a hand on the back of Jane's chair to steady herself as she felt another abdominal twitch - something she had felt during the battle, but had brushed off as adrenaline related- Maho looked over what was being displayed to her on the viewscreen to be absolutely sure her eyes weren't deceiving her:
"N-C-C..." Maho read aloud. "6-5... 9-1-8... A. USS Myogi..."
A long, uneasy silence fell over the bridge.
"...But that's impossible," Ichika finally spoke up. "We never received any notification from Starfleet that the Myogi was scheduled for replacement, so just what exactly..." -she paused to indicate towards the viewscreen- "...is that?"
As Maho pondered how this could have happened, a though crossed her mind, and she turned towards Chrirhc returning to his station:
"Mister Chihc; get me a stardate:" She ordered.
Nodding, Chrirhc consulted the chronometer at his station. The chronometers usually provided the current stardate, and they should have still read the same stardate as before, but they didn't: The number was different, and had jumped from their previous stardate by a sizeable margin.
"77...061... Point 6." Chrirhc reported.
"Seriously... We jumped into the future?" Kurumi sighed. "Oh and they're hailing us Captain."
"Could be a trap, Captain," Ichika warned.
Maho hesitated for a second, but returned towards the command pit.
"On screen:" She ordered. It was time to meet whoever was on that ship:
When the viewscreen switched over, however, the image before them was heavily static-ridden, and only the faint outlines of consoles could be made out. The noise of the static also filled the bridge with irritatingly loud white noise.
"Ops, see if you can stabilize the connection!" Maho shouted over the static.
As Ops worked to reduce the noise levels produced by the static, Maho stood up from her chair and stepped over to the edge of the command pit:
"Attention, unknown vessel: This is Captain Maho Takahashi of the Federation Starship Myogi:" Maho said. "Please identify yourself immediately!"
There came no response to Maho's request. Instead, the static-ridden signal appeared to further deteriorate.
"Mister Chihc; what can you do for our comms buffer and subspace receivers?" Maho asked.
"Working on it!" Chrirhc responded, his fingers gliding over the cracked surface of his console. "It's not easy on a console that's in limp home mode!"
Almost ten seconds passed before the connection with the foreign vessel finally stabilized, and the static-ridden image of its bridge cleared up. For the first time, the entirety of the other bridge's layout could be seen: Much of the basic geometry was similar to the Myogi's own bridge- the distinctive swooping arch that made up the tactical console was present. However, the warm color palette had been swapped out for colder greys.
The screens of the other bridge's consoles displayed what appeared to be errors in red, and red lights strobed at timed intervals as the other crew appeared to be diligently working on repairs and communicating in Federation standard. The uniforms they wore also differed from those which the Myogi's crew wore: The division colors once again adorned the shoulders of the officers like the uniforms of the Dominion cold war era. However, unlike those uniforms, the division colors themselves appeared to be more muted and darker than the traditional Starfleet division colors, and a further detail that could be made out was that every single person on the other bridge had what appeared to be a phaser on their hip.
"Try it again, Commander!" A familiar, yet unseen male voice called out. "EPS trunk has been re-primed."
"Testing..." came another, much more familiar voice. "...Nope; still no response."
"Anzai?" Ichika immediately recognized. "But she was only recently assigned to the Oriskany! What's she doing here?"
"If we have indeed time traveled, it might be possible that..." Maho began.
"Ugh, we'll have to keep trying:" The male voice responded, causing Maho to trail off. "Every moment we sit here at only emergency power is a moment we're vulnerable to attack."
At this point, a red-uniformed man finally revealed himself, having extricated himself from under the aft engineering console. A head of neat and tidy black hair made his way down to the starboard ramp into the command pit. Keisuke knew those stern dark blue eyes even before he had stepped into the command pit, fully revealing his identity:
Ryosuke Takahashi came to a stop at the edge of the command pit and faced the viewscreen, clasping his hands behind his back in a professional manner. His face was dirty, and the shoulders of his uniform were noticeably stained by electrical soot, but it was him.
"Captain Takahashi:" Ryosuke finally acknowledged his visitors from the past before turning his head towards Keisuke standing off to the side of the Myogi's command pit. "Keisuke: ...It's been a long time: Welcome to the 25h century... Or, rather, what's left of it..."
