Mission: Junichi Koyama
Location: Various
Timeline: The Night After the Captain Returns

Previously on Star Trek Myogi:

The chief lowered the phaser rifle. "Good." He said. "I know that you'd come to your senses Commander. Well done, you've taken the first step in the right direction."

He placed the rifle on the table and pulled out a PADD. "Insert your codes here." he said simply as he slid the PADD over to Kurumi. She hesitated at first but then took the PADD. It was a simple access area where she could put in any code she likes.

"Ok, here you go." She said as she tapped on the PADD. "This is the code you can use to access the Myogi's computer systems. It should allow you control of the ship. You'll need to transmit it directly to the ships subspace array for it to work."

"Good." The chief said with a smile. "Once we have operational control of your ship. I'm sure Governor Hartley will be pleased."

"Keep her here while I try these codes out."

"You don't trust me?" Kurumi asked with a sly smile.

"Not at all. If these codes don't work, we'll kill the girl." The chief told her. "So, you better hope they work. Because after we kill you, we'll make sure you join her. Your filthy blood doesn't deserve to carry the oxygen of this planet."

Kurumi sat back in her chair. She crossed her arms as she watched the Chief put the code into the computer terminal behind him. She watched as he uplinked the code she had provided to the computer.

The screen showed that the code was being transmitted to the Myogi. The Chief seemed a little impatient as he waited for a response. After a moment or two, he got his response. One he was not expecting at all.

And now the continuation...

Captain's log, Starship Myogi:

It has been one day since our first meeting with Governor Hartley, and one day since we learned that two of our own have been captured: Ever since I returned to my ship, we've had our short, medium, and long ranger sensors trained on the planet's surface, looking for two needles in a haystack...

I have spoken with Captain Hartmann, and she is in agreement over the Gamma Zednorians' despicable actions; and we have the Akagi's full sensor suite assisting our own in the search.

Conveniently, Governor Hartley has had a 'family emergency;' and as such, there will be no negotiations taking place today. Normally this would mean a slow day for us; but given our current situation; the day has been anything but slow...

[USS Myogi - In Orbit]

The transmission from the surface was picked up by the Myogi's subspace receiver. It only took a few seconds for it to activate. Unbeknown to the crew, Commander Ebisuzawa had programmed a failsafe Macro into the ships computers. One which took immediate affect on the Myogi's systems.

The red alert Klaxons began to wail as the ships shields raised immedately. The bridge was unusually quiet with it being in the middle of the night shift. However that quiet had been broken from the moment that the ship jumped to Red Alert.

"What the hell?!" Commander Anzai shouted over the blaring of the klaxons.

"REPORT!" Maho yelled.

"Sir!" The officer at the tactical called out. "I'm locked out of all Tactical controls!" he reported as he attempted to take control of the Myogi's tactical systems. "Phaser are charging sir!"

The phaser banks on the Myogi began to power up, locking onto the Detention Center. The Macro had taken command of the Myogi's tactical systems and was programmed to fire the ships phasers on the source of the transmission once the codes had been received. Thats exactly what started happening. The Myogi opened fire.

The bridge crew could only look on in horrified silence as concentrated burst of white hot nadion particles hit the surface of the planet faster than you could blink.

"Good God..." Ichika gasped in wide-eyed disbelief.

"Now I know how Aisaka must have felt at Alvatar..." Maho grumbled.

"Shut it down!" Commander Anzai shouted frantically. "Rip out the fuse if you have to!"

Ami was back in uniform and spending time on the bridge as they were searching for Kurumi and Alisha. She tried one override and then another, looking to Maho as she ran through the schematics in her mind. Deck 5. She started for the turbolift, "Give me two minutes, I'll get them shut down!" She was through the turbolift door and headed down before anyone else could react or respond.

Jane tried her own approach. She couldn't do much about the phasers except break orbit -- and obviously they weren't going to do that -- but she could maybe break the phaser arcs? She steered the Myogi so that the primary phaser array pointed away from the ship.

But it was no use. The macro was too well made. When the primary phaser arrays along the saucer were unable to fire at the target, others along the ship's length took over. There was no angle in which she could put the ship which did not have at least one phaser pointing at the target on the planet.

Max was quick to try a few tricks he had learned on the USS Poseidon, particularly with older systems. He went into a backdoor system that enabled developer access to preliminary system functionalities, however his face turned grim when even that locked him out. He remembered a few tried and true creative commands that were shared from him from his instructors on the Poseidon, but even these failed to bypass.

"I'm completely locked out, Captain," he mournfully reported, briefly glancing behind him. "I've tried bypassing through developer preliminaries, old command routines, and nothing works. I'm sorry, Captain."

As Ami got into phaser controls, the duty officers there were trying to figure out how to stop the main phasers from continuing and she bypassed them, opening an access hatch and throwing herself inside. Another pulse of energy that felt like it was right next to her indicated another shot from the phasers as she crawled frantically to the actuators, finally reaching them. She started to close her hand, but stopped as yet another pulse of energy cycled through, then grabbed the main energy coupling and yanked hard, taking the critical piece of the weaponry with her. Instantly, the phasers went into shutdown mode and Ami hit her commbadge, "Phasers are offline, Captain."

To be continued...
