Mission:
Junichi Koyama
Location: USS Myogi
Timeline: After 'Control Chaos! (Part 1)'
Previously, on Star Trek: Myogi:
"I'm completely locked out, Captain," he mournfully reported, briefly glancing behind him. "I've tried bypassing through developer preliminaries, old command routines, and nothing works. I'm sorry, Captain."
As Ami got into phaser controls, the duty officers there were trying to figure out how to stop the main phasers from continuing and she bypassed them, opening an access hatch and throwing herself inside. Another pulse of energy that felt like it was right next to her indicated another shot from the phasers as she crawled frantically to the actuators, finally reaching them. She started to close her hand, but stopped as yet another pulse of energy cycled through, then grabbed the main energy coupling and yanked hard, taking the critical piece of the weaponry with her. Instantly, the phasers went into shutdown mode and Ami hit her commbadge, "Phasers are offline, Captain."
And now the continuation:
[Bridge]
"Confirmed," The officer at Tactical reported. "Phasers are offline... but... oh god.." he said. "Something is powering up the torpedo launchers!"
"Shut it all down!" Commander Anzai ordered. "Cut all power to tactical systems, if you have to!"
"I've been trying, but nothing is working!" The officer at Tactical said. It was at that very moment that the Tactical Station went blank, now just a dead console with no illuminated touch buttons or panels. "I've lost the Tactical console, it's just powered and locked off!". He smacked it, with no response from the console at all.
For her part, Jane continued her efforts to manipulate the ship's angle. For now, she had the Myogi's belly pointed to the planet, limiting the firing arcs for the torpedoes. Some still fired, but it took longer as they had to have targeting and pathing programmed into them.
Ami hung her head next to the phaser power coupling. She was out of position to handle this new situation. at least Jane was doing something to prevent them from firing. She slammed her commbadge, "Rori to Crenshaw, stop the torpedoes from cycling, keep the tube doors open. I don't care if you have to stand there and put your body in the way, keep it from closing!"
"Jettison all our ordnance!" Maho ordered, turning to Ops. "Ops, transmit our prefix code to the Akagi with instructions to attempt to shut down our tactical systems!"
Max wormed furiously over the controls, then replied, "Sent, ma'am!"
The tactical systems of the Myogi powered down. The computer eventually unlocked the tactical console. The viewscreen on the bridge automatically switched to an aerial image of what the phasers had been firing at. It showed the 'detention center' with several holes blasted into it. The viewscreen also showed several people escaping the building.
"Incoming message," the computer announced. "Priority One transport request from Commander Ebisuzawa."
"Commander Ebisuzawa?" Ichika repeated, shooting Maho a concerned look. "Do you think it's legit, Captain?"
"Well, there's only one way to find out:" Maho said, standing up and tapping her combadge: =A="Commander Tristana, send a team to Transporter room one."=A=
=A="Aye Capitan: (Captain:)"=A= Came Tristana's response.
Maho then turned to Ops:
"Send the request to transporter room one and stand by for beam up." She ordered.
Max nodded, quickly going over the controls. He turned around briefly. "Request sent, transporter room one reports ready to receive transport on your order," he replied.
"Prepare for beam up." Maho ordered.
[Transporter Room 1]
Ruby was manning the controls. "I've got a lock on two people. The computer has identified Commander Ebisuzawa and another, but a child."
=A=A child?!=A= Ichika radioed back. =A=What is Commander Ebisuzawa doing with a child?? I thought you said that she was captured???=A=
"I'm not sure Commander, but the transmission and her security codes check out." Ruby replied.
=A="We'll work out the details later:"=A= Maho ordered. =A="For now, get them the hell out of there before we lose the lock!"=A=
"Pulling them up now!" Ruby said as her fingers danced across the surface of the console.
A few seconds later, Kurumi and Yaeka emerged on the transporter pad. Both of them looked a mess, covered in dirt, dust bruises and in Kurumi's case burns and blood. She didn't even hesitate, only stopping briefly to give a nod of thanks to Ruby as she set off at a run carrying Yaeka in her arms.
"Wait!" Ruby called "Where are you going?!" She shouted after her, following her into the corridor. Kurumi was already half way down the corridor. However she looked back.
"Sickbay! Have the Captain meet us there! Thos is an emergency!" Kurumi shouted back before she turned a corner.
Ruby blinked a few times. "Captain..." she said as she tapped her comm badge. "Commander Ebisuzawa is aboard, she's got a young girl. She's on her way... well, she's running whilst carrying the child to sickbay. She said it was an emergency. She requested you meet her."
[Bridge]
"Understood." Maho responded. "I'm on my way..."
"Where did Commander Ebisuzawa get a child?" Ichika pondered as she moved to join Maho in the Turbolift. "I swear, if we weren't already getting court martialed for destruction of property, then we'll most certainly be court martialed for abducting a child..."
"I fully intend to speak with Commander Ebisuzawa about violating our no civilians policy:" Maho responded.
Jane was overhearing this and getting restless. “Only Commander Ebisuzawa and a kid? Where’s Lieutenant Reno then?! She’s almost definitely down there, if it’s where they’re keeping prisoners. Maybe deeper in where we can’t get transporter locks?” But the Captain and First Officer were most of the way to the turbolift.
Maho turned around when she heard Jane object.
"One step at a time, Lieutenant:" She said. "It's entirely possible that Lieutenant Reno might not have even been at this location: For now, we must hear Commander Ebisuzawa out before we determine our next move."
“Understood,” Jane said, turning back to her console. It hurt but Maho wasn’t wrong. That made it hurt even more.
