Mission: Handling the Fallout
Location: Holodeck One
Timeline: Approximately 1 hour after 'The Second Wedding of Maho and Keisuke Takahashi (Part 3)'

With cocktail hour drawing to a close, the gathered guests began filtering into the reception venue. It was a modest space, with enough space to accommodate everyone whilst still leaving plenty of room for a dance floor.

As Tristana made her way inside, she found out that she was being seated at a table with Fujiwara and Johnston.

This ought to be fun; She thought to herself. A chance to get to know one of the newer guys...

Filled with joy for the happy couple and even more relaxed watching the crew filter into the venue, Brennyn made her way inside, smiling as she made eye contact with familiar faces, including those that were only familiar to her based on personnel records. She was definitely going to have to do some more mingling, but she didn't want to cause a bottleneck right now, so she made her way to her assigned table.

"Come on, Alisha," Jane said, pulling on her new girlfriend's arm. "We need to find our place!" She was excited for the meal to begin, and eager to sit and relieve the pressure on her aching feet.

Alisha allowed herself to be dragged along as gracefully as she could, her dual sky/navy blue dress and matching heels barely keeping up except by skipping every third step, "I see they've got placecards, Jane, I don't think anyone is going to steal our seats!" She giggled, glancing around with a slight smile on her face. Everyone there was another risk to be recognized, but she couldn't help her worries.

Brandon was prepared for this. Like a gentleman, he held on to Victoria’s handbag as she used the washrooms to “freshen up.” Standing there outside the facilities for the moment, he waited patiently. Pratt smiled and nodded now and then at passing crew, delegates, and family members all holding conversation.

Victoria exited the restroom and flushed red as she saw several sets of eyes on her, though most flitted away as soon as she turned out not to be the person they were seeking, leaving Brandon's alone. She reached out and grabbed her handbag again with a smile, "Sorry about that, Brand, I just needed... Well, you don't want to hear about that." She leaned up and kissed him on his cheek, "Thanks for being patient with me."

Brandon then flushed red. All Victoria had to do ever was just give him a peck like that, in public, and he noticeably was shot with a pulse of serotonin.

“Victoria. You look stunning. I didn’t say anything earlier... I know you get self-conscious.” Brandon decided to lead them away from the washrooms. “Look. Vic. They have ice sculptures.” Off to the sides of the venue diffused lighting had emanated from buffed and sculptured ice statues.

"I so do not get self-conscious." Victoria was her normal contradictory self, but she slipped her arm through his in order to claim Brandon as her own, "And those are gorgeous! I wish I could do something like this."

Approaching the ice sculptures and Victoria and Brandon, Bree looked at the sculptures admiringly before offering, "They are beautiful, aren't they? I think there's something to be said for creating something that lovely from something else that started off cold and rigid."

"Art. If only for a moment in time." Pratt had mocked an insightful comment.

When everyone had seated themselves, the DJ cued up his mic:

"Greetings and salutations, everyone:" He said. "On behalf of the bride and groom; I'd like to take the time to thank you all for taking the time out of your busy days to bear witness as they pledge their love anew; as their way of saying thanks, they are providing a meal to everyone: But first, allow me to introduce myself; my name is Dave Rodgers, and I will be your provider of entertainment this evening: In addition to a selection from the wedding party, I will also be taking requests from you lovely folks, so feel free to come up to me at any time and ask if there's something you'd like me to play. But, that's enough chatter about me; how about we get on with the introduction of the wedding party?"

One by one, the DJ announced the various members of the wedding party as they entered the venue, bowing before the applauding holograms and crewmembers before assuming their seats.

This is all very elaborate... Elisabeth thought as she applauded the various members of the wedding party. If this was what they missed out on, I'm glad they decided to give it a second chance.

"Soooo~" Karen sighed as she casually plopped down in a chair directly across from where Elisabeth was seated. "What's shakin', Bacon?"

"Lieutenat Kujo;" Elisabeth responded. "I had no idea we were seated so close together..."

"Maybe it's fate?" Karen grinned, knowing full well that she'd had to bribe the wedding planner with a copy of the latest Demon Slayer tankobon to score a seat next to the super-cute diplomat. "If you believe in that sorta thing, of course..."

"Depends on the kind of fate;" Elisabeth smirked. "I'm a believer in sailors' superstitions; you know; 'red sky at night; sailor's delight; red sky in the morn, sailors be warned' and all that kind of stuff."

"A fan of all things nautical, I take it?" Karen surmised. "Well, can't say I've ever plundered the ocean's depths for treasures untold, but no pearl could hold a candle to the view I'm getting right about now."

"Oh, please;" Elisabeth Blushed. "This is nothing; I can and have gone way more outlandish than this! Now, if we want to talk about simple; what you're wearing tonight certainly takes the cake."

Now it was Karen's turn to blush.

"Damnit, Kujo, get a grip on yourself! she grumbled. "You're the one that's supposed to be hitting on her!"

"Okay, everyone; up next; give it up for the Maid of Honor and the Best Man; Erika Itsumi and Takeshi Nakazato!" Rodgers said.

Takumi turned when Nakazato was announced and was stunned; even though he knew Nakazato was only a hologram, Keisuke wasn't kidding: He truly had befriended Nakazato.

"Isn't that...?" Takumi began before the security chief clocked him on the head. "OW! What was that for??"

"We don't speak of Nakazato's fate..." Tristana warned.

"Wait, what?" Takumi asked. "No, that's not what I was going to say!"

"And now, ladies and gentlemen; the moment you've all been waiting for:" Rodgers said. "The reason we're all gathered here today: Please, give it up for the one; the only; the Commanders Takahashi!"

Together, Maho and Keisuke strode through the entryway into the venue arm in arm; Keisuke dressed in his Sunday best while Maho was taking advantage that she still fit in her wedding dress, which was rather unique in that it held hues of blue which punctuated the whiteness of the garment. Together, Maho and Keisuke made their way to the dance floor amid ovation from the holograms and crewmembers, waving and bowing to the guests.

Brandon stood up, joining in with the joy of the occasion. Smiles all around, as the husband and wife renewed their vows, a true testament to the bond that unites and endures.

The Chief’s large hands clomping together, all eyes on Keisuke and Maho dressed elegantly. At 6’1” ft tall, Brand’s height quickly offered him good views. Thanks to a slight alteration in his dress shoes. At this height, Brandon, with some degree, viewed the ceremony procession to the floor with more ease than others. Brand smiled naturally, as he could never have a sour face watching the enjoyment.

"Congratulations!! Well done!!" Pratt joined in on big smiles with the others, all truly happy to see something good and love happen. Holograms and others all in celebratory calls.

Jane whistled loudly with her index finger and thumb between her lips and before joining in the applause. She loved a good wedding, though she hadn’t been to many since becoming an officer. She had to gently dab her eyes, careful not to let any makeup run, as the joy of the occasion got to her.

As the ovation subsided, Maho and Keisuke faced each other to begin their first dance as Rodgers cued the music:

"Ladies and gentlemen; it appears the bride and groom have decided to begin their first dance." Rodgers quipped.

The first dance was a two song set; jointly chosen by Maho and Keisuke as a show of their defiance. The first song was a slow arena rock power ballad appropriately titled 'Sweet Victory', whilst the second song was a Eurobeat selection titled 'The Top', with lyrical content about coming up from the bottom. Maho and Keisuke had selected the set to have both slow and fast dancing in their first dance as a demonstration of their finesse.

When the set concluded, Maho and Keisuke took a moment to bow for the ovation before stepping off the dance floor to assume their seats at the center of the wedding party table overlooking the dance floor.

"And now, ladies and gentlemen; we invite you to grab your plates and head for the buffet to fix yourself a meal, compliments of the bride and groom." Rodgers said, announcing the opening of the buffet.
