Mission:
Captains and Contraband
Location: Rheuys System
Previously, on Star Trek: Myogi:
Before Mikoto could answer, however, Maho could make out the muffled, yet distinct sounds of the red alert klaxons blaring in the corridor outside. And then, as if right on cue; Mikoto's combadge went off:
=A="Bridge to Captain Misaka:"=A= Came the gravelly voice of the Caitian XO.
Misaka stood up straight. "Misaka here," she answered already walking towards the door.
=A="Hate to disturb you, but we've got company!"=A= The Caitian XO reported. =A="Several Elachi ships have just appeared!"=A=

As Pallis spoke, Stokh placed a hand over her ear and tilted her head, listening in as comms blew up with traffic. Whatever was happening; something big was going down.
Wondering if Braush's comms were going berserk in the same way, Stokh turned to her counterpart.
"Are you hearing this?" Stokh whispered.
"Loud and clear," Braush nodded before unholstering his disruptor pistol and moving out into the center of the room.
"Alright, everyone, clear the floor!" he announced before everyone present. "Please proceed to the nearest Warming Shelter in a neat and orderly fashion! This is not a drill! I repeat, this is not a drill!"
And now, the continuation:
[Rheuys Orbit]
The calm stillness of the Myogi's bridge was interrupted by alarms going off as rthe ship's sensors detected incoming objects. However, before the ship's systems could positively identify them, multiple Elachi ships appeared within the space of the Rheuys system.
"Sir?" Takumi called out from the CONN station. "Multiple Elachi ships incoming!"
"Red Alert!" Kurumi called. She had been on watch and since the majority of the command staff were off ship she was the most senior officer on board.
Lieutenant Moon monitored the system as power rotated to shielding and tactical systems. Her finger slid down a touchscreen to slightly decrease sensor power consumption. This gave weapons and shields a boost greater than the shift triggered automatically by Red Alert status. Ji-hee sat up in her seat, tension visible in her rigid posture and anxious expression.
The Operations Chief scanned a list of systems, occasionally flicking power away from one to boost another.
"Nightkids to your fighters." Alisha was back purely in her role as the Deputy Air Boss, but as she'd been told in no uncertain terms: She wasn't ready for combat yet. She glanced over at her old Intelligence station, now with Alistair there instead, then flashed a brief smile. "Give 'em Hell, girls."
As Kurumi was the acting captain, that meant Tactical fell to the young Mexican officer Tristana, who assumed Kurumi's normal spot at tactical.
"Shields are up, torpedoes loaded." She reported.
"All weapons fire. Focus on one spot," Kurumi ordered.
"Diverting auxiliary power to weapons:" Tristana reported. "Entering weapons range, and... Firing!"
"Hit." Alisha stated tonelessly from her station where she was watching the part of the battle they were involved in. "Target shields down significantly, perhaps thirty-five percent, jeez these bastards have strong shields."
"Narrow the beam, and increase overall power to the fire chambers. Maybe we can punch through," Kurumi replied.
"Aye, ma'am:" Tristana responded. "Ops; we're going to need more power to those fire chambers."
[USS Ermiana]
Meanwhile Captain Misaka arrived on her own bridge. She looked over at Maho and Ichika who had followed her. "Make yourself useful somewhere. We can't get you back to your ship right now," she told them both.
"Right," Ichika nodded as she helped Maho over to the Engineering station. "Are you good to stand, Captain?"
"Of course I am." Maho responded. "Now, stop worrying about me and make yourself useful."
Ichika nodded before moving to man the tactical console directly behind her.
"Let's see... it's been a while since I've operated one of these..." she said as her fingers moved expertly over the interface. "Right, then; shields are raised... targeting systems online... phaser banks are powered up... torpedoes are auto-loading..."
She leaned over the railing and gave Mikoto a nod of approval. "Tactical systems are go, Captain,"
Mikoto glanced back momentarily. "Full power to phasers and load all torpedo bays." she ordered simply.
[USS Kaga]
"Captain, multiple Elachi ships have just appeared:" The officer on the Kaga's CONN reported.
"Red alert! Scramble all fighters!" Koko ordered, the bridge lighting switching as the red alert Klaxons sounded.
[Rheuysian Reichstag Complex]
The Away Team had been led to the armory of the Reichstag complex, where they were distributed riot gear and Rheuysian disruptors.
"I must say, for a society that seems to take an immense amount of pride in their sense of discipline, their choice of weapons seems awfully... uncivilized," Commander Anzai remarked as she turned the disruptor over in her hands.
"Not too different from a Hebitian weapon." Chrirhc said. "Here; it's actually pretty simple-!"
"Let's cut down on the chatter, people." Keisuke ordered. "We don't want to give our position away!"
Ami adjusted the body armor that had been given to her before accepting the disruptor rifle, checking it over with practised eyes for any faults, "Been a while since I've handled a disruptor weapon, not a big fan of them if I'm being honest."
“You’ll do fine, Imouto,” Jane told Ami as she checked her own weapon. It had been a while since she too had used a disruptor. Her combat experience was almost entirely with phaser technology. But still. She knew what she was doing.
She just hoped this fight went differently than her last one.
"LOOK OUT!" Someone shouted nearby.
As soon as the shout rang out, a firefight broke out, the yellow pulses of Rheuysian disruptors crossed green crescent-shaped disruptor beams, which hit their targets and appeared to dissolve them.
Ami felt her heart pounding hard as she pressed her back to the wall near to the door and disabled the safety on the weapon. She started breathing heavily before she crouched and leaned around the doorway weapon first and took a pair of shots at the closest oncoming Elachi, missing the first shot, but hitting the second to seemingly no effect. She ducked back before a single green shot flashed where she had been a moment before.
"Taking fire!" Commander Anzai announced as she fired off a few shots before quickly moving to cover. "Your assessment, Mister Chic?"
"They appear to be targeting the women first:" Chrirhc deduced. "Which would make sense, given what Major Shimada reported."
"And what was on the report?" Commander Anzai inquired.
"Well, accounting for what was redacted, the Elachi seem to prefer the use of women as... Shall we say breeding stock?" Chrirhc explained. "Perhaps they do have some sense of morality, considering the far more horrifying things they do to males."
"Some chivalry..." Commander Anzai muttered sarcastically.
“Well we’re not letting them do that to us, are we?” Jane said to the group. She briefly exited her cover and took a pair of shots. One went wide but the second felled an Elachi.
"Well, that depends:" Chrirhc said. "The Elachi had to have come from somewhere; do we wish to find out the answer?"
"Not with me they aren't." Ami retorted as she ducked out for another rapid volley of disruptor fire that dropped the Elachi that had been behind the one Jane had shot. She regained her cover once more, "Wish I were in a tank..."
"You and me both..." Commander Anzai sighed. "Right, then; so if we know that they're targeting the women, then the Kaiser will no doubt be their main quarry; we should probably incentivize converging on her location and seeing to it that she's secured."
She glanced over at Keisuke. "Commander, would you concur with that assessment?"
"Make it so, Commander:" Keisuke nodded. "Take whoever you need."
"Well, if there are no objections..." Commander Anzai began, shifting her attention to the away team. "Let's move out!"
"I suppose that means everyone, then." Keisuke grumbled, as he moved to follow Commander Anzai.
