Timeline: After 'The Battle of Braxus (Part 4)'
Previously, on Star Trek: Myogi:
"Payload is hot..." Karen reported as she flicked a couple of switches and glanced over at her viewfinder. "Lining up with the Government complex..."
The viewfinder suddenly flashed green, indicating that she had a lock.
"FIRING!"
As the torpedoes struck the Government Complex's shields, a nearby building (presumably housing the shield generators) exploded, causing the shields surrounding the complex to rapidly fail.
And now, the continuation:
[USS Myogi-Bridge]
=A=Shields are down!=A= Karen radioed excitedly. =A=I repeat, shields are WHOA SHI-!=A=
Her jubilation was cut short as the sound of an explosion cut through the audio feed.
Maho blinked, the denial almost immediately setting in that someone had just been lost on her watch:
"Status report?" Maho asked. When there was no response, Maho asked again, louder: "STATUS REPORT??"
On her own screen, Alisha had been keeping track of the maelstrom of fighters, especially the two blue dots within the swirl of green that indicated Myogi's own pilots. One had just blinked off with the finality of destruction, the other, outlined in red, changed course and accelerated, then disappeared, leaving only green and red dots on her screen. She swallowed hard and looked up, "Captain Takahashi... I've lost all telemetry from both Lieutenants Kujo and Amaro, I've got nothing from either of them." Her voice trailed off.
Jane looked back toward the rest of the crew for just a moment, concern painted across her face. But there was nothing to do in the moment. They knew nothing for sure; no telemetry was not the same as dead, she told herself mentally. But the reassurance was hollow.
[USS Ermiana]
Several smaller Elachi and Romulan ships circled the larger Galaxy Class starship. The Galaxy Class had always been a powerful ship, but she was far less maneuverable than others.
The ship shook as it tool fire, it's shields flickering and starting to fail. Captain Misaka gripped the arms of her command chair as sparks showered down upon them from above. Smoke floated through the air like ghostly fantom causing the officers to cough, desperate for fresh air. However the crew remained at their stations.
"How we looking?" Misaka asked loudly.
"Shields are failing. Hull breaches on decks five, seven, twelve, sixteen, thirty six, thirty eight and forty." The officer at the Engineering station called out.
"Now then old girl, we've been through worse." Misaka muttered.
"Bring the shields in, wrap the hull." Misaka ordered. "Then Divert power from all systems we aren't using to reinforce structural integrity." She added.
"Aye Captain!" The officer at tactical called out. "We've got shield strength back. Bringing them close to the hull worked."
Misaka nodded. Essentially they were using the ships shields like a skin-wrap around their hull. They could easily be bolstered whilst they close and didn't need to be projected out as far.
"Set a course..." she tapped on her arm controls.
"Captain that would take us on a direct collision course with..."
"I know that Lieutenant. Just do it!" Misaka snapped sternly. "On my mark, I want you to push the impulse engines past the red line. We're talimg out that battleship!"
[Space]
The Ermiana's impulse engines burned bright red as the huge ship increased speed, bolting straight at the remaining gigantic Elachi battleship.
From the Myogi's bridge, Maho saw the Ermiana break formation and begin what could only be described as a Kamikaze run:
"What is she doing?" Maho wondered aloud. "Ops, get me ahold of the Ermiana, stat!
"We can only get an audio signal." The Ops officer reported as Medical finally arrived to move the unconscious Moon and take the Korean to safety.
"Then that'll have to do:" Maho said as the comm channel was opened. "Takahashi to Misaka: What the hell do you think you're doing?"
"Showing you how you use a starship during war!" Came Misaka's voice before cutting off.
[USS Ermiana]
Misaka had moved from her command chair and had joined the tactical officer on the 'horseshoe' console. "Once we're in point blank range we're going to hit them with everything we've got. I'll take phasers, you take torpedoes." She looked over at Helm, "Helm, on my mark, cut impulse engines, then all port thrusters and bank angle sixty degrees."
"Aye Captain..." The helmsman replied nervously. "Wait.. you want us to..."
Misaka nodded. "I took a leaf out of Captain Takahashi's book from her car racing obsession..." she smirked. "Ok, get ready." The huge Battleship loomed on the viewscreen as the Ermiana charged forward.
"Now!"
[Space]
The Ermiana closed until it was right on top of the Elachi battleship. Every phaser bank that faced forward erupted with bursts of orange fire, striking against the Elachi shields. Followed in close succession by a full spread of fifteen Quantum torpedoes from the forward launchers.
Then immediately the ship banked to port, it's thrusters firing and the ship swung to port one hundred and eighty degrees. As she turned the ships phasers on the starboard side erupted into life, striking the battleship before fifteen photon torpedoes burst from the rear launchers slamming into the now heavily damaged Elachi ship.
[USS Ermiana]
"Vent warp plasma! And hit full impulse!" Misaka ordered.
"Venting plasma... engaging impulse engines." The helmsman replied.
[Space]
A cloud of blue plasma loomed out of the Ermiana's warp nacelle engulfing the crippled Elachi battleship. Then the Ermiana shot forward at speed. A single phaser beam from the aft phaser bank shot out, igniting the plasma. The entire cloud erupted like a volcano, before a larger explosion sent shockwaves out as the Elachi battleship was reduced to nothing but floating debris.
The shock wave struck the Ermiana, sending the ship hurtling forward, it's bow dipping as it was pushed away. She eventually came to a stop, visible hull breaches leaking atmosphere and fire as she began to drift. Her blue nacelle flickered along with her lights from her viewports as her main power started to fail.
[USS Ermiana]
The bridge was a mess, debris scattered and fires chattering around them. Misaka ran a hand through her hair, to discover she had taken a direct hut to the head and was now bleeding. The helm and operations consoles had been all but destroyed and the three command chairs had been thrown forward and shattered the forward viewscreen.
She was helped up by the Lieutenant who had been thrown from the helm console. One of his arms was twisted badly in the wrong direction clearly broken. "Captain..."
"Thanks Lieutenant... How bad are we?" Misaka asked.
The engineering officer clambered over the debris and deceased bridge officers to the flickering engineering console. He winced in pain as he ran a status check. "Shields and weapons all but destroyed, we have two phaser strips left.Major hull damage. Emergency forcefields are offline. Main power is gone. Engines destroyed. Life support is starting to fail. Casualties coming in from all decks."
Misaka sighed. She never thought she would give this order in the twenty five years of commanding this ship. She tapped her comm badge. "All hands this is the Captain. Abandon ship. Make your way to the escape pods and shuttles. I repeat Abandon Ship."
She then looked over to S'Mira. "Get everyone out." She said simply as she stumbled to the tactical console. "I'll keep the enemy away as you make your escape." She said. "The old girl can still keep those bastards off your pods and shuttles."
"But, Captain-!" The Caitian XO attempted to argue.
"GO!'" Misaka shouted back.
To be continued...
